The Queen City
A cut-mirrored love letter to Cincinnati—cut in light, memory, and skyline.
For those who know the magic of “the cut in the hill”, the view is unforgettable. Whether returning from a long drive or arriving for the first time, Cincinnati’s skyline opens up like a welcome home sign—its landmarks standing tall above the banks of the Ohio River.
Over the years, the city has evolved, adding new silhouettes to the horizon—but its heartbeat remains the same: bold, industrious, humble.
Cincinnati was named in honor of Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus, a Roman farmer-turned-general who, after leading his people through crisis, returned peacefully to his fields—an enduring symbol of leadership through service. Inspired by this ideal, a group of Revolutionary War officers formed the Society of the Cincinnati, whose name would later be bestowed on a riverside town called Losantiville in 1790. That town became the Cincinnati we know today.
This piece, The Queen City, is a tribute to the iconic Cincinnati skyline—a panoramic blend of history, art, and civic pride. From left to right, the cut horizon includes:
Music Hall
Union Terminal
Paul Brown Stadium
Albert Sabin / Duke Energy Convention Center
Millennium Hotel
PNC Bank
Carew Tower
Roebling Suspension Bridge
US Bank
Fifth Third Bank
Scripps Howard
Justice Center
Federal Courthouse
Great American Ball Park (Reds Stadium)
Atrium Building
Chiquita Building
Great American Insurance
Procter & Gamble
Heritage Bank Arena
Each line cut into glass celebrates a structure, a memory, or a turning point in the city's story.
Whether you’re from here, moved away, or just passing through, The Queen City is a piece of home you can hold onto.
